My Dear Friends,
My God, what is happening in the world today? What is going on? Our lives are being attacked. Our freedoms are being stripped away. We are in a war, a war of Terror.
I am a survivor of the Korean War. I know exactly what Terror is all about. Bombs exploding everywhere, gunfire throughout the night, people bleeding and dying all around. I experienced extreme terror and anxiety at the age of 5.
Are we experiencing this kind of terror now?
To me, America was the safest place, Heaven on Earth, the land of the free, the land of opportunity. It was a place where anyone could achieve anything with desire and heart. But now, what is happening here?
We are being physically terrorized, but also spiritually and emotionally terrorized. Fear is trapping us. Our hearts are being held hostage.
During the War, my heart and soul were held hostage as a little girl. It was a feeling of horror that I wouldn’t wish anyone to feel, but now it is happening here on U.S. soil.
Our freedoms are being taken away. We can’t go to church, school, the theater, airports, clubs, malls, grocery stores, department stores, the park… every place is a potential target!
Terrorism used to be something that happened in other countries, but now, it has come to our own backyard.
For my entire life, I have strived for freedom. I fought against discrimination because I was born a girl. I fought against racism because I am Korean. I fought against prejudice because I was a female martial art Master. Now it’s no longer just about freedom. It’s about safety, Safety, SAFETY!
After my lectures and classes, many people have shared with me that they don’t feel safe going into public anymore – to airports, theaters, restaurants – terror can strike at any moment. Orlando, San Bernardino, Fort Hood, the Boston Marathon, 9/11, …it’s happening everywhere. Where will terror attack next?
When you have your life, treasure it, honor it, appreciate it. Don’t take life for granted.
For the victims of the terror attacks, we pray to God for their souls and to give strength to their families.
For ourselves, let’s not become victims of our own arrogance, our own ignorance.
When was the last time you hugged your parents? Your kids? Your brother or yoursister? Your life partner? When was the last time you said “I love you” or “I appreciate all you do”? Tell them how much you love them, how much you appreciate them, how much you value them.
Don’t hold back. Don’t say, “I’ll do it tomorrow”. Do it now!
It won’t cost you any taxes!
Always know that the power is in you. It is your personal choice what you do in your life!
With much love,
From my heart to your heart,
